Here's a list of every monster we generated in the Shrine and which CD we used in Monster Hunter 2 in Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX.
One of the best parts of Monster Rancher is creating and collecting new monsters by generating them from CDs. With the launch of Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX this is now even easier as you'll have access to the digital CD database at your fingertips.

This guide details each and every monster we have discovered so far in Monster Rancher 2 and which CD we used to get them. Please note that the stats of monsters vary depending on the CD used to generate them, so some CDs might provide a stronger version of a specific monster than a different CD.
We'll cover the basics of monster generation and typing first, or you can skip straight to the good stuff and start browsing for your new favorite monster.

This is a work in progress. We will continue to update this guide as we discover more monsters.
Head to Town and go to the Shrine to generate monsters. The 'Disc Stone' option is the option you want to select to be able to search the digital CD database. You can search by Title, Artist, or both. You can also choose the 'Random' button for the database to choose a random CD, or you can also view your History of CD generations here.
When searching for artists or album titles, you have to type it exactly as it should be at the start. For example, searching "Beatles" will not bring up search results, you need to search for "The Beatles". However, searching the first name only, such as "Bob", will display all results including "Bob Dylan"
Searching for game companies such as "Nintendo", "PC", "Atari", "Sega", and "Xbox" in the Artist category will bring up a list of games. "Nintendo" has the most search results.
Monsters are made up of a Main type and a Sub type. The Main type dicates their body shape, while the Sub type takes applies different characteristics.
The following monster types are available from the start of the game:
Any other types must be unlocked before they appear as a Main or Sub type.
