The latest entry in the Figuarts Zero line recreates the moment when Future Trunks made a sharp first impression with the rest of the series' cast.

Future Trunks and Frieza's battle is recreated in the latest Dragon Ball Z statue.

The new figure is part of Bandai's Figuarts Zero line and was revealed on the official Dragon Ball website. The new statue recreates the moment when Future Trunks truly demonstrates his strength as a Super Saiyan by effortlessly slicing Frieza in half, before dicing the villain up into tiny pieces and blowing him up. The statue captures this moment with screen and manga-accurate details on both characters, including the Capsule Corp logo on Trunks' jacket and the various mechanical parts that Frieza was outfitted with following his battle with Goku. The quick brutality of the moment is also conveyed with transparent effects parts that show the arc of Trunks' blade, as well as the smoke eminating from Frieza's eviscerated body. Including the height of the slashing effect, the statue stands at just over 11 inches tall.

The new statue is expected to be released in Japan on Oct. 22. A price was not announced for the figure, but it is expected to be cheaper than the other new Future Trunks statue, which depicts the time-traveling hero alongside his time machine and costs a whopping $1,349.99 USD.

Future Trunks was originally introduced in the Dragon Ball manga's 136th chapter, where he arrives in the present day just in time to put a stop to Frieza and King Cold's attempt to get revenge. The character, who hails from an alternate future where all of the Earth's heroes are defeated by a pair of Dr. Gero's android warriors, travels back in time to save Goku and prevent his tragic version of the future from becoming a reality.

Dragon Ball has released numerous statues, figures and other collectibles within the last year that look back at the Android and Cell sagas. The new merchandise is meant to tie in with the upcoming release of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the latest movie in Akira Toriyama's beloved martial-arts epic. The movie features many connections to the classic DBZ sagas, as it features two new android antagonists, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, who were also built by Dr. Gero's Red Ribbon Army. Rumors have also circulated that the movie will feature the return of Cell, a genetically engineered warrior who also traveled through time and ended up becoming one of Goku's most dangerous opponents.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will be released in Japan on June 11. All of the classic Dragon Ball anime series, including DBZ, are now available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
