Lazeez Modern Indian Flair, 2601-C Tuckernuck Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food debris on knives on knife holder, lids, metal pans and on multiple utensils stored clean on rack; observed pink buildup on metal panel of ice machine in kitchen; temperature of tomatoes prepped last night is elevated; temperature of unsalted butter is elevated because it was left out at room temperature; temperature of chicken in lowboy unit on the cook line is elevated due to employees cleaning the unit earlier; temperatures of chicken curry, cheese and goat in prep top unit are elevated because they are stored above the fill line; boxes of liquid shortening and multiple other foods incorrectly stored on the floor; metal pans are wet nested on clean rack in dish area; to-go trays are not stored inverted; racks throughout kitchen are rusty; multiple units have torn gaskets; observed debris on hood filters, in between equipment on cook line, outside of equipment in prep area, and on shelves in prep area in kitchen; prep sink faucet is leaking; standing water and debris found under ice machine; observed debris on wall and under equipment on cook line; observed low grouting on kitchen floors and chipping paint on floors throughout kitchen.

Antioch Recreation Association, 4310 Redbank Road – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

Li’s Garden Inc., 1237 North Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: cooked wings on the counter and cooked pasta in prep top are at improper temperatures; used egg cartons are being used as a draining board for cooked chicken; observed dried food debris and grime buildup on floor surrounding drain at end of cook line and on side of wok station.

Cava Grill Short Pump, 11780 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: back hand sink is blocked by a step ladder and the soap dispenser is empty; pan of raw ground lamb incorrectly stored on walk-in rack next to prepared chickpeas; temperatures of lettuce and lentils are elevated; two lights are out under the hood system; ice machine air intake and walk-in cooler fan guards are dusty; observed patches of low grout in the back kitchen; floor drain in front of dishwasher has a lot of grime; wall behind ice machine is dusty; floor under cook line is soiled.

The Boathouse at Short Pump, 11800 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: open energy drink can found on the line; observed an employee cutting tomatoes bare handed; shell stock tags are not dated consistently; soda gun nozzle at bar, hot water urn nozzle, can opener, potato slicer and deli slicer are all dirty; interior of ice machine has immense mold growth; temperature of grits in the steam table is too low because they were not reheated properly beforehand; bar menu doesn’t have an asterisk to indicate that the Tuaca Sour has raw egg; single-use seafood bins are being reused to store other foods like bread and veggies; to-go containers and lids are not stored inverted; one light is out under the hood system and one light is out in the walk-in cooler; sides of stoves are crusted with grease; beer cooler fan grates are dusty; floor under fryers and a patch under the stove are greasy.

Canterbury Recreation Association, 1300 Pump Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: reach-in refrigerator is not maintaining food at the proper temperatures.

Avalon Recreation Association, 510 Heathfield Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: did not observe a certified food protection manager certificate during inspection; hand sink in employee restroom doesn’t have an “employees must wash hands” sign posted; sponges found in kitchen hand sink (hand sinks are for handwashing only); observed pink and black mold on plastic panel of ice machine in kitchen; reach-in unit doesn’t have a thermometer; soda boxes incorrectly stored on floor of reach-in unit; to-go trays are not stored inverted; mop sink doesn’t have a backflow prevention device installed.

Sbarro at Fas Mart, 11390 Nuckols Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed dust buildup on soda/syrup rack; walk-in cooler door gasket has mildew; faucet at three-compartment sink is leaking; observed dust and mildew on walls, ceiling and door inside walk-in cooler; wall near mop sink is greasy and dirty; grease is building up on floor and on light switches under hood where fryers used to be.

KFC, 3800 Mechanicsville Turnpike – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: grime is building up inside drive thru ice chute; observed dried food debris and grime buildup on speed racks and fan grates in chicken cooler, on floors and door of chicken cooler, and on racks of hot holding units; there is low grout in mop sink/prep sink area; floor tiles throughout the kitchen are cracked; standing water found at doorway of walk-in freezer.

Hangry Joe’s, 11636 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed an employee take buns out of the toaster with bare hands; back hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; sauces made yesterday in the walk-in cooler are not date marked; tapioca pearls at the bubble tea station are kept on a time control policy but no time was marked; boba spoon incorrectly stored in standing water; kitchen floor is lined with cardboard to catch grease and spills.

Anant Cuisine of India, 4348 Pouncey Tract Road – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: dry storage rack is rusty; cutting boards are very stained; dish area wall has mildew and staining; ceiling tiles are discolored.

Hooters of Richmond, 7912 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: coffee grounds found in hand sink at server station (hand sinks are for handwashing only); observed heavy buildup of mildew inside ice machine; observed flour and grease residue on containers and lids stored clean on dry racks; dish machine is not sanitizing; several spray bottles of cleaner are unlabeled; observed small flies infestation throughout kitchen and storage room; clean glasses at the bar are stacked wet; containers are cracked and broken; ladles stored on racks and in-use are rusty; single and prep unit cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; there is grime and limescale buildup inside dish machine; observed buildup of grease, flour and mildew on several surfaces (storage racks, fan grates in both walk-in coolers, inside reach-in units, wheels of cooking equipment, under grill, counter and prep surfaces, inside mop sink and on wire cabinet in beer cooler); there is a leak under hand sink near cook line; observed buildup of grime, grease and mildew on floors and walls in kitchen, storage areas and in walk-in coolers; water is pooling on the floor throughout the kitchen; floor in mop sink/storage area is no longer smooth and easily cleanable; observed low grout throughout; floor tiles throughout kitchen and in walk-in coolers are cracked; two light fixtures are missing shields.
