The following questions are about current Minnesota Vikings topics, answered by PurplePTSD. Today is the June 18th edition, addressed in a from-the-hip fashion. If you have questions, please email them to DustinBakerNFL@gmail.com.

Also, please note: These are opinion-based responses. Some answers will be incorrect from time to time. But we’ll try to keep that to a minimum.

A: That was just a suggestion from BR, not a rumor or eventuality.

The idea was a bad one — and doesn’t make sense. Patrick Peterson came back to the Vikings for 2022 on his own accord. It would be very strange business to turn around and trade him back to his old team. If Peterson wanted to play for Arizona, he would’ve signed with them in March.

Peterson will play an integral part of the 2022 Vikings secondary. Minnesota should not trade him, especially not for a 6th-Round draft pick to his old team.

A: Statistically, yes, but he probably needs to win a Super Bowl somewhere to solidify his case.

All of his numbers align with safeties of the past who’ve reached the Hall of Fame. But he just doesn’t have the notoriety to be voted in. A Super Bowl would fix that.

Smith has a few seasons left, so his best bet is to win a championship with the Vikings or a different team.

A: It’s for good reason you haven’t thought about him. Beavers hasn’t taken a regular season snap since 2016 with the Vikings.

Regardless, he signed with Comannders this week and will vie for a roster spot in September. Beavers has played 11 offensive snaps in his career but has remained on teams’ practice squads since 2016. He’s a grinder.

Washington doesn’t have a ton of depth at OT, and there’s a slight chance he actually makes their squad in September.
