"With the use of a special tool kit, we are able to utilize our K8-16 peach stoning machine also for other stone fruits, such as apricots and plums, as well as pears and apples," said Francesco Pannullo, one of the company directors of the Italian OMIP-Officina Meccanica Industriale Di Precisione, speaking about a new product innovation exhibited at Fruit Logistica 2022.

"The K8-16 peach stoning machine is a very robust unit, built entirely of stainless steel. Most of its mechanical elements have been replaced by state-of-the-art technology, making this machine by far the easiest and most cost-effective in maintenance in its category," continued Pannullo.

"The rotation of the knives, now improved in speed and efficiency, allows the pitting of 344 peaches per minute, with any degree of ripeness and of any variety - clingstone, freestone and nectarines - with an even sharper and more precise cut. The machine has been completely redesigned with a brand-new housing system, making it easier to clean and maintain."

"The peaches, which are unloaded into the pitcher, are arranged on the fruit belt, where an innovative orientation system ensures a high percentage of properly positioned fruit, without the use of labor. They are then halved by the blades and pitted by probe knives, at a rate of 43 cuts per minute. Finally, they fall onto an optional shaker, which separates the pulp from the stones," explained Pannullo.

"The Berlin fair turned out as a pleasant surprise for us, because we were a bit apprehensive at the beginning. We had fewer visitors, but the ones who attended were really high quality. We hope that these business meetings will become concrete after the fair. As for the event, the second day was a bit slower, but still good," added Timothy Ahiagba, OMIP sales manager.

"There were many European exhibitors and visitors, but also many from other continents, such as Asia, Africa, the United States and Latin America, to name a few. After a long time, it's good to see the world again at Fruit Logistica," concluded Ahiagba.

OMIP has exhibited until 7 April 2022 in Hall 3.1/Stand A-06
